Brief description of residency program
Buinho aims to be an inspiring place which fosters creativity, collaboration, and community engagement.
In 2015 we created one of the very first rural FabLabs in Portugal, and since 2017 we run one of the most innovative AIR program located in a rural area. The Buinho Residency program is directed at creatives and researchers from different backgrounds.
The artistic residencies encourage exchange, dialogue, and experimentation.
The residencies are process-based, allowing visiting artists to develop projects in response to the relationship with the local environment and community, or to conduct research benefiting from Buinho’s resources, and the daily life and environment of Messejana.
